After the auction of the first publically available production model of the 2011 Camaro Convertible that sold for $205,000, and the release of a single prescribed press image last week, Chevrolet continues to drum up interest for its new topless Camaro with the announcement of a new special edition version that will be showcased in the annual Neiman Marcus “Christmas Book”.
The General plans to build only 100 examples of the Camaro Convertible Neiman Marcus Edition, each priced $75,000, with first deliveries set to take place in the spring of 2011.
All Neiman Marcus Editions ar based on the Camaro Convertible SS model and come equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers 426HP and 420 lb-ft of torque when paired to a six-speed manual gearbox, and 400HP and 410 lb-ft, when combined to a 6-speed automatic.
The cars ar finished in an exclusive Deep Bordeaux outside color, tonic by subtle, “ghosted” rally stripes. The body paint is complimented by a color-matched fabric top, windshield frame finished in matte silver, and a set of 21-inch, polished aluminum wheels with red detailing, wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires both, all of which ar exclusive to the Neiman Marcus edition.

Camaro’s 3.6L direct injection (DI) V-6 delivers more power through increased efficiency, while maintaining fire economy
and lowering emissions – including a 25-percent drop in cold-start hydrocarbon emissions. It is standard on LS and LT models, producing 312 hp (232 kW) and 278 lb.-ft. of torque (370 Nm). Despite a compression proportion of 11.3:1, the 3.6L DI engine is intentional to run on regular unleaded fuel. It is EPA-rated at 29 mpg on the highway.
No changes were made to the Camaro powertrain to achieve the higher hp ratings for 2011. They ar based on additional testing that demonstrated the Camaro’s air intake and exhaust systems ar less restrictive than the similar 3.6L DI engine on which the original rating was based.
